Annette serves as the firm IP Administrator, assisting with staff management and working to ensure timely and high quality completion of all matters. She is also responsible for maintaining and elevating the firm’s workflow with uniform firm practices. She leads the firm’s constant efforts to implement technology and automate, streamlining efficiency, increasing productivity, and providing clients with the best possible service.
Prior to joining Maier & Maier, Annette was U.S. Patent Prosecution Manager at Arent Fox, LLP. She was responsible for their DC and New York patent prosecution teams. She also was a member of their software testing and development committees.
Previously, she managed a patent prosecution team for a top boutique patent law firm for ten years. During this time, she implemented the firm’s digital conversion in 2009. She continued to develop software as Co-Chair of the CPA Global/First to File Software Innovation Board and has spoken at several conferences about digital conversion and efficient workflow practices. She also was a member of USPTO focus groups on updating and integrating technologies, including website update and eMOD DOCX projects.
Prior to her IP experience, she was a civil litigation paralegal in California for 14 years. She attended El Camino College; California State University, Santa Barbara; Bryan College of Court Reporting; and Legal Secretaries Training Institute.
